Saving the Superhero is based on the idea that our need to “save the day” has tangible effects, and can even result in damage if left unchecked. This idea might be counter-intuitive, but the purpose of Saving the Superhero is to show all sides of a popular culture phenomenon and use this knowledge for our personal benefit.
Dana Rovang (project director, author) has worked corporate, academic, non-profit, and creative, and has 10 years experience in media design and video production, including project management and writing. This project comes out of personal experience and her own crisis that came about from trying to “save the day” for her family and country, resulting in a diagnosis of PTSD. She has degrees in Anthropology and Comparative Religion (BA), History (MA), and History and Philosophy of Science (PhD). She is currently a freelance video producer specializing in Human Resource and educational story narratives.
